And, for more Argentinian wizardry....

Check this goal out, scored by Argentina in WC2006. The Argentinians put together 24 passes (some say 25!) before midfielder Esteban Cambiasso tucks the ball in the back of the Serbian net. It's a work of art, isn't it. Patience, precision, creativity, team work - u name it, this goal got it all. You've seen solo goals by Argentinians (Maradona & Messi). Well, from this clip, Argentinians can also score really beautiful team goals. This one's the goal of many passes.

Having scored the above goal, I wonder how was it that Argentina didn't manage to win last year's World Cup - at the time they scored that, they looked unstoppable, no team could stop them. Actually, I think I know why - the Argentina coach made some questionable decisions (substitutions) during the quarter-final. Had that not happen, Argentina would now be the World Cup holders.

Here's another one. This one is scored by that man Maradona during WC1994. Fewer passes compared to the first goal above - all up there were about 7-8 passes. But all very quick, one-touch passes steeped in the Argentinian football tradition. The ball was pinged here & there with such swiftness & accuracy that carved Greece apart, & culminated in Maradona doing the honours. The ball moved around zip, zap, zip, zap.....then Maradona gets the ball, next stop - back of the net.

Great, great goals. Pure Argentinian masterclass. Simply exhilirating to watch. Vamos Argentina!!
